Guillaume Chaine showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 27th minute Valette Stars were awarded a corner. Fabian Walme went to the cornerflag to take it. Adrien Tanneau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorio Laurentzi in the 30th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafail Rusev got free with Fabien Barthez in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adrien Tanneau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascal Ohlmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Algrange's Fabien Barthez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julien Chassot in the 72nd minute of play. Guillaume Chaine recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guillaume Chaine in the 78th minute of play forced Algrange's goalkeeper Fabien Barthez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julien Chassot in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rd minute of the match Valette Stars got a corner. Algrange's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fabian Walme ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Valette Stars's corner Theo Chassot fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fabien Barthez quite easily take care of the ball. Aziz Merlet kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Valette Stars's Julien Chassot got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute Guillaume Chaine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, Guillaume Chaine ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabien Barthez was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Valette Stars's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
