With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raymond Foubert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Valette Stars's zone, Romain Blet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrien Tanneau came out of the goal and Romain Blet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 37 minutes of play, Valette Stars's Guillaume Chaine made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raymond Foubert was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 39 minutes, Jakob Billvall mouthed his way into the referee's book.
