Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillaume Chaine, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Pascal Ohlmann recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adrien Tanneau. Pascal Ohlmann showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafail Rusev in the 23rd minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Rafail Rusev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valette Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafail Rusev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Rafail Rusev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabien Barthez was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Pascal Ohlmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Adrien Tanneau made a huge save. Algrange's Pascal Ohlmann got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Valette Stars getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Oğuzkan Kamuran hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guillaume Chaine to make the kick off. Guillaume Chaine's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabien Barthez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guillaume Chaine in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabien Barthez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaiah Simmons in the 61st minute of play forced Valette Stars's goalkeeper Adrien Tanneau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabien Barthez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillaume Chaine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexis Favre hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Algrange made a substitution. Nicklas Lundgren replaced Isaiah Simmons. In the 64th match minute, Algrange was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexis Favre to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the match, Algrange's goalkeeper Fabien Barthez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabian Walme. In the 70th minute, Étienne Lepers made a precise shot to the right of Adrien Tanneau. Valette Stars's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. The supporters of Valette Stars booed when Algrange was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aziz Merlet didn't get a good kick on the ball.
