Jim Bannatyne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dariusz Czerniak in the 20th minute of play. Didi Di Bari charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Didi Di Bari the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 21 played minutes Pélicans FC got a freekick which was hit by Didi Di Bari. Jim Bannatyne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charles-Henri Bartoli, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Jim Bannatyne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Simon Santa María in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute Dariusz Czerniak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Bannatyne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Dariusz Czerniak notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Pélicans FC's Jim Bannatyne.
