But to his dismay, Thibaut Bernadet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 30 minutes, Terry Grison mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the massïlia and the corsaire nantais players grew even worse after the yellow card. Melvin Passemard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jochen Sommerhalder in the 41st minute of play. corsaire nantais's Thibaut Bernadet got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Yves Fuchs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Pavel Chivu made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jochen Sommerhalder to strike the kick off in the second half. Yves Fuchs took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pavel Chivu. Pavel Chivu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Pavel Chivu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yves Fuchs in the 53rd minute of play. Jochen Sommerhalder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Melvin Passemard made a huge save. With a little luck, corsaire nantais's Melvin Passemard got control of the ball when Jochen Sommerhalder tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, massïlia's Joseph Leperlier got a free kick in the 55th minute. After 60 minutes, Mehdi Vallier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the massïlia and the corsaire nantais players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of corsaire nantais booed when massïlia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehdi Vallier didn't get a good kick on the ball. After taking down the ball on corsaire nantais's corner Mamadou Clermont fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pavel Chivu quite easily take care of the ball. Melvin Passemard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jochen Sommerhalder in the 65th minute. When corsaire nantais's Thibaut Bernadet in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 81st minute, Joseph Leperlier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Paulo Pucheu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute Yves Fuchs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavel Chivu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. massïlia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
