Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Leandro Bartoli got the match started through his kick off. In the 7th minute, Jérémie Sarmiento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olavo Velloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 12th minute Cuero Ibañez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Ibarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jérémie Sarmiento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olavo Velloso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Azconzábal Morante made in the 17th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Benjamin Kielland however managed to control. Olavo Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jérémie Sarmiento in the 19th minute of the match. Johnny Ibarra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cuero Ibañez's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Bartoli in the 21st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Johnny Ibarra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Revolución Joao FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jérémie Sarmiento came free, but Olavo Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olavo Velloso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jérémie Sarmiento went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Johnny Ibarra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aguinaga Casasola in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute Revolución Joao FC were awarded a corner. Cuero Ibañez went to the cornerflag to take it. With an all-out effort, Revolución Joao FC's Johnny Ibarra threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cuero Ibañez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 47 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Cuero Ibañez came free, but Johnny Ibarra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jérémie Sarmiento made a kick off. Revolución Joao FC's Olavo Velloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Revolución Joao FC from getting a goal against them. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Revolución Joao FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Intriago Herquinigo took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Jérémie Sarmiento heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Ecuador's Ismael Blanco was substituted for Washington Piedrahita. 65 minutes into the match, Revolución Joao FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Blanco came free, but Olavo Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Revolución Joao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graziani Moranto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 72 played minutes Revolución Joao FC got a freekick which was hit by Graziani Moranto. 76 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Spencer came free, but Johnny Ibarra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cristinel Iosub fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Revolución Joao FC's protests and gave Cristinel Iosub a yellow card for diving instead. Cristinel Iosub hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gavril Stoican came free, but Johnny Ibarra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ismael Blanco's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Olavo Velloso firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jérémie Sarmiento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Olavo Velloso made a huge save. Johnny Ibarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Spencer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Lorenzo Acutain hit a great ball. Olavo Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jérémie Sarmiento in the 93rd minute. Gavril Stoican took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnny Ibarra. Johnny Ibarra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ecuador walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
