Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Leandro Bartoli took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd match minute, Revolución Joao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Azconzábal Morante to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Jérémie Sarmiento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olavo Velloso was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jérémie Sarmiento in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavo Velloso saved Revolución Joao FC from getting behind. 15 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Jérémie Sarmiento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olavo Velloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Olavo Velloso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jérémie Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Cuero Ibañez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 26th minute, Jérémie Sarmiento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olavo Velloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. With an all-out effort, Revolución Joao FC's Johnny Ibarra threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cuero Ibañez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some careless play in the Revolución Joao FC defense, Jérémie Sarmiento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olavo Velloso. The Revolución Joao FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olavo Velloso should have stopped the shot. In the 41st minute of the game Azconzábal Morante made a throw-in which Cuero Ibañez played forward. Jérémie Sarmiento took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olavo Velloso. Olavo Velloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jérémie Sarmiento to make the kick off. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Revolución Joao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zambrano Bravo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 54 played minutes Revolución Joao FC got a freekick which was hit by Azconzábal Morante. In the 55th play minute Jérémie Sarmiento came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Olavo Velloso. 0-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jérémie Sarmiento in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olavo Velloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Azconzábal Morante made in the 59th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Cuero Ibañez however managed to control. In the 61st minute, Jérémie Sarmiento made a precise shot to the right of Olavo Velloso. Revolución Joao FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Johnny Ibarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aguinaga Casasola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Lorenzo Acutain in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Revolución Joao FC's Cristinel Iosub. If Jérémie Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Omar Ayon made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ecuador's Cordero Aberasturi. Olavo Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Intriago Herquinigo in the 84th minute. Johnny Ibarra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cuero Ibañez, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Revolución Joao FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Intriago Herquinigo took the corner. Ecuador's Intriago Herquinigo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Olavo Velloso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Spencer in the 92nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Johnny Ibarra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute Cuero Ibañez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Ibarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
