Magno Correia came out of the goal and Pranas Užkuraitis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mamutes EC's Magno Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pranas Užkuraitis in the 24th minute of play. Magno Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pranas Užkuraitis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 27 played minutes Mamutes EC got a freekick which was hit by Moisés Bueno. After a rather tough play, Mamutes EC's Edu França got a free kick in the 28th minute. Pranas Užkuraitis might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Magno Correia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pranas Užkuraitis ran back to his position shaking his head. Magno Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pranas Užkuraitis, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Pranas Užkuraitis might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Magno Correia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pranas Užkuraitis ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Mamutes EC defense, Pranas Užkuraitis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Magno Correia. The Mamutes EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Magno Correia should have stopped the shot. Dave Panno struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Petr Čech didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mamutes EC.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pranas Užkuraitis made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Mamutes EC's Dave Panno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petr Čech made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Pranas Užkuraitis came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Batalhão do Peçanha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pranas Užkuraitis couldn't finish the play. Christian Peixoto charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Peixoto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th minute, Christian Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
