Valette Stars's Adrien Tanneau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philipp Van Emelen in the 31st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Valette Stars's Armand Plaza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of De-la-Cruz de Alcântara. That made the score 1-1 after 37 minutes of play. In the 40th minute Paulus Van Hove shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrien Tanneau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, de belletrekkers's Inocencio Ariando got a free kick in the 42nd minute. De-la-Cruz de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafail Rusev, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guillaume Chaine to make the kick off. Many of de belletrekkers's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. de belletrekkers may have spent more time on the ball, but Valette Stars were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
