Switzerland's Sepp Mainville played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Silban in the 70th minute of play. The corner was taken by Hipolito Misael in the 87th minute. Iona Lightfoot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frasier Huber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Toni Fabich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Neron Veterini's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Iona Lightfoot firmly grabbed it by the left post. Iona Lightfoot made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Neron Veterini sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Switzerland eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
