The audience was convinced that Brian Rose's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mickey Bramble was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Brian Rose received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Mickey Bramble tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brian Rose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Gainsborough FC's Brian Rose got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Gainsborough FC's Freddie Cousens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicholas Joynes in the 24th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Nicholas Joynes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie Cousens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mickey Bramble showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Rose in the 34th minute of the match. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the match, Gainsborough FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Beckett came free, but Freddie Cousens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nat Connor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Joynes kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
After 53 played minutes Fowey FC got a freekick which was hit by Jamie Berryman. 54 minutes into the game, Brian Rose cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Mickey Bramble was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Maurice Bryant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Mickey Bramble tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fowey FC's Jamie Berryman quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Spike Holbrook, made in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 65th minute Nicholas Joynes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie Cousens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Brian Rose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicholas Joynes struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Freddie Cousens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fowey FC. Gainsborough FC's Freddie Cousens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicholas Joynes in the 72nd minute of play. In the 77th match minute, Gainsborough FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tristan Routledge to maneuver through the defense. Nicholas Joynes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 78th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nicholas Joynes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tristan Routledge kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Nicholas Joynes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jamie Berryman's late challenge caught a Gainsborough FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jamie Berryman helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes Fowey FC got a freekick which was hit by Jamie Berryman. Nat Connor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Freddie Cousens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gainsborough FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
