Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Lucian Huțupan started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. A collision led to Cere getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Nicolae Plopșor hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Brian Rose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Codrin Vrabie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Codrin Vrabie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Rose in the 16th minute of play. Brian Rose struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Codrin Vrabie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gainsborough FC. Freddie Cousens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toader Bacanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brian Rose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codrin Vrabie having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Brian Rose's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Codrin Vrabie was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Codrin Vrabie came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Gainsborough FC's Rio Abbotts. But to his dismay, Rio Abbotts quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Brian Rose struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Freddie Cousens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucrețiu Blejan in the 48th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brian Rose to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Lucian Huțupan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cere's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucian Huțupan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddie Cousens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gainsborough FC's goalkeeper Freddie Cousens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cere's Codrin Vrabie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Rose in the 59th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Brian Rose dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Codrin Vrabie, 0-2. A collision led to Gainsborough FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Rio Abbotts hit a great ball. Brian Rose recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brian Rose received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Codrin Vrabie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute Brian Rose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Codrin Vrabie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laurențiu Unchiaşu kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Vintilă Cămărășan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phil Ploughman, 82 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Cere's Nicolae Plopșor got a free kick in the 87th minute. Cere's Codrin Vrabie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Rose in the 90th minute of play. Jamal Beattie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Rio Abbotts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brian Rose's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Codrin Vrabie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The Cere fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gainsborough FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
