Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Nicholas Joynes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute Nicholas Joynes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aiden McDaniell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mickey Bramble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruce Adams, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruce Adams sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 12th minute of the game Joseph Dyer made a throw-in which Johnny McKinlay played forward. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, David Beckett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fowey FC's supporters rose to their feet, but David Beckett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aiden McDaniell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute Nicholas Joynes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aiden McDaniell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Leith United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnny McKinlay to maneuver through the defense. Bruce Adams sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aiden McDaniell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Joynes in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Bruce Adams ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mickey Bramble was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Ian McGugan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 played minutes Fowey FC got a freekick which was hit by Roy Bourne. Aiden McDaniell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Beckett, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Ian McGugan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruce Adams made a kick off. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leith United's goalkeeper Aiden McDaniell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. David Beckett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 63 played minutes Fowey FC got a freekick which was hit by Daryl Sissons. When Derek Lorne came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Leith United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derek Lorne couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruce Adams in the 66th minute of play forced Fowey FC's goalkeeper Mickey Bramble to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mickey Bramble showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruce Adams in the 69th minute of the match. When Bruce Adams came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Leith United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruce Adams couldn't finish the play. If Bruce Adams had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the match, Fowey FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ian McGugan came free, but Mickey Bramble reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Johnny Kinnieson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mickey Bramble. Fowey FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Johnny Kinnieson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 93 minutes in the game Daryl Sissons did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Ron Stonehouse. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Leith United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
