Juan Franco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnny Kinnieson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. San lorenzo de Santa fe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruce Adams was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Leith United's Bruce Adams got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leith United's Aiden McDaniell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geronimo Cordarryl in the 34th minute of play. Juan Franco was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Bruce Adams capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bruce Adams really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. In the 39th minute, Paul Beattie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute, Bartolo Orixe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aiden McDaniell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geronimo Cordarryl went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 46th minute Geronimo Cordarryl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aiden McDaniell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Geronimo Cordarryl struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Aiden McDaniell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San lorenzo de Santa fe. After 89 played minutes Leith United got a freekick which was hit by Steve McCondy. With a little luck, Leith United's Aiden McDaniell got control of the ball when Virgilio Nabar tried to sneak it across the goal line. San lorenzo de Santa fe's Virgilio Nabar got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 91 played minutes Leith United got a freekick which was hit by Paul Beattie. 94 minutes into the match, Leith United's Bruce Adams sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan Franco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruce Adams in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Franco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. San lorenzo de Santa fe's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
