Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brian Rose in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ali Hong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brian Rose sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albert Teo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Freddie Cousens made a huge save. If Alex Mortimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ali Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Rose in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Gainsborough FC's goalkeeper Freddie Cousens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniz Amin. In the 30th minute of the match big bals United got a corner. Gainsborough FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alam Singh ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led big bals United's Alam Singh to fire away a dangerous shot which Freddie Cousens despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Rose in the 31st minute of play forced big bals United's goalkeeper Ali Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freddie Cousens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steven Hong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brian Rose sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Brian Rose left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gainsborough FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Afiz Hongyi fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored big bals United's protests and gave Afiz Hongyi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to big bals United getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brian Rose to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Albert Teo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Freddie Cousens was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Gainsborough FC's Brian Rose got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Freddie Cousens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afiz Hongyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gainsborough FC's attentive Jamal Beattie managed to snatch the ball when Bineesh Tan made a throw-in in the 61st minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Ali Hong successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Brian Rose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Hong having to interfere. Freddie Cousens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniz Amin in the 76th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes big bals United got a freekick which was hit by Albert Teo. When Spike Holbrook fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gainsborough FC's protests and gave Spike Holbrook a yellow card for diving instead. Spike Holbrook kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Merlin Phua made in the 83rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Afiz Hongyi. Ali Hong was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Brian Rose capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Brian Rose really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After a rather tough play, Gainsborough FC's Maurice Bryant got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Albert Teo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brian Rose recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brian Rose was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 95th minute. Gainsborough FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
