With his leg Aiden McDaniell managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Famaillá AFC's Cristian Bidari fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Famaillá AFC's Santiago Bilintx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruce Adams in the 14th minute of play. Johnny Kinnieson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Tim McPheidiran fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leith United's protests and gave Tim McPheidiran a yellow card for diving instead. Tim McPheidiran hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Cristian Bidari's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aiden McDaniell firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 25th minute, Bruce Adams ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Santiago Bilintx was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Johnny Kinnieson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Bilintx having to interfere. Leith United's Aiden McDaniell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Leith United from getting a goal against them. In the 35th minute, Steve McCondy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Bidari who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Aiden McDaniell when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joseph Dyer during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Leith United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Aiden McDaniell went to the wrong direction when Rene Lando was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Leith United's Bruce Adams in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Famaillá AFC's goalie prevented a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruce Adams made a kick off. When Bruce Adams came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Leith United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruce Adams couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Leith United's Johnny McKinlay got a free kick in the 55th minute. Ian McGugan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Bilintx having to interfere. If Bruce Adams had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Piearres hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Cristian Bidari kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Leith United's Bruce Adams got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bruce Adams struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Santiago Bilintx didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leith United. After a rather tough play, Leith United's Johnny Kinnieson got a free kick in the 71st minute. Cristian Bidari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aiden McDaniell having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Derek Lorne reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Santiago Bilintx. The goal made the score 2-2. Santiago Bilintx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruce Adams in the 79th minute of the match. Santiago Bilintx was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bruce Adams showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 82 minute of play. In the 86th minute, Ian McGugan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leith United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. After a defensive mix-up in Famaillá AFC's zone, Bruce Adams stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Bilintx came out of the goal and Bruce Adams tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruce Adams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Bilintx having to interfere. When the match was over Leith United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Famaillá AFC throughout the match.
