In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cere's goalkeeper Codrin Vrabie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 7 minutes into the match, Virgilio Nabar notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cere's Codrin Vrabie. Codrin Vrabie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Geronimo Cordarryl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Codrin Vrabie came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by San lorenzo de Santa fe's Geronimo Cordarryl. But to his dismay, Geronimo Cordarryl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Codrin Vrabie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolo Orixe, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Cere's goal looked a bit too open when Virgilio Nabar came free, but Codrin Vrabie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 played minutes, San lorenzo de Santa fe's Fabricio Orixe shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Codrin Vrabie came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in San lorenzo de Santa fe reached it. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cere's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cecilio Aurre was slow to take the kick. During this time San lorenzo de Santa fe's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Cecilio Aurre almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cere's Codrin Vrabie did a great save. In the 26th minute Virgilio Nabar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Codrin Vrabie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Franco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narcis Crețulescu in the 28th minute of play. Juan Franco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vali Enoiu in the 33rd minute. 37 minutes into the match, Cere's goal looked a bit too open when Virgilio Nabar came free, but Codrin Vrabie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th match minute, Cere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narcis Crețulescu to maneuver through the defense. Cosme Sedeni took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Codrin Vrabie. Cere's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 41st minute Nicolae Plopșor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Franco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Lucrețiu Blejan notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of San lorenzo de Santa fe's Juan Franco. Juan Franco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fabricio Orixe took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Codrin Vrabie. Cere's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geronimo Cordarryl to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of San lorenzo de Santa fe booed when Cere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narcis Crețulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabricio Orixe lost his temper 54 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in San lorenzo de Santa fe fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! Virgilio Nabar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Codrin Vrabie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cere's zone, Guillermo Gonsalve stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Codrin Vrabie came out of the goal and Guillermo Gonsalve tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gavino Boniel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Codrin Vrabie made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Virgilio Nabar sent off a good shot on target. In the 69th minute, Guillermo Gonsalve hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Franco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vali Enoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Guillermo Gonsalve hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Virgilio Nabar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Bartolo Orixe took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Codrin Vrabie to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of San lorenzo de Santa fe booed when Cere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebiu Doman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 82 played minutes San lorenzo de Santa fe got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Nabar. Virgilio Nabar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codrin Vrabie having to interfere. In the 91st match minute, Cere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vintilă Cămărășan to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolo Orixe in the 96th minute of play forced Cere's goalkeeper Codrin Vrabie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Cere's Eusebiu Doman got a free kick in the 97th minute. The San lorenzo de Santa fe supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing San lorenzo de Santa fe would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
