The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tanek Kazczyk in the 4th minute of play forced Gainsborough FC's goalkeeper Freddie Cousens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wincent Ostrowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Rose in the 10th minute of the match. Brian Rose sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alex Mortimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wincent Ostrowski was a little too slow when Rio Abbotts got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. After a rather tough play, Małomiasteczkowi N-H's Tanek Kazczyk got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Wincent Ostrowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brian Rose, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Maurice Bryant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wincent Ostrowski having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Stasio Ostrowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wincent Ostrowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Rose in the 43rd minute of the match. Alex Mortimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wincent Ostrowski having to interfere. If Brian Rose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Wincent Ostrowski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brian Rose went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Alex Mortimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brian Rose recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wincent Ostrowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rio Abbotts, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Phil Ploughman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wincent Ostrowski having to interfere. When Jurand Chmielecki fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Małomiasteczkowi N-H's protests and gave Jurand Chmielecki a yellow card for diving instead. If Jurand Chmielecki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the game, Gainsborough FC's Brian Rose nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wincent Ostrowski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Alex Mortimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Wincent Ostrowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 90 minutes of play, Gainsborough FC's Rio Abbotts made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wincent Ostrowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! 95 minutes into the game, Gainsborough FC's Brian Rose nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wincent Ostrowski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gainsborough FC fully deserved thier win.
