Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Huy started the match with the kick off. Henk Paauwe charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henk Paauwe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 2 played minutes Burgh HC got a freekick which was hit by Henk Paauwe. After having played for 3 minutes, Nguyễn Huy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Đông Á Thanh Hóa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Huy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lê Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Alex Toolenaar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Huy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Toolenaar having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Đông Á Thanh Hóa FC's Lê Minh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alex Toolenaar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 11th match minute, Đông Á Thanh Hóa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hồ Mai to maneuver through the defense. Alex Toolenaar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Huy, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Henk Paauwe kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 15thth minute of the game Lê Minh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Burgh HC's Alex Toolenaar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alex Toolenaar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Huy in the 20th minute of play. Nguyễn Huy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edward Otten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Lê Minh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Toolenaar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32ndth minute of the game Edward Otten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Đông Á Thanh Hóa FC's Trần Bay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edward Robben might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trần Bay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Robben ran back to his position shaking his head. Edward Otten struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Trần Bay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Burgh HC. 37 minutes into the match, Đông Á Thanh Hóa FC's goalkeeper Trần Bay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Robben. 43 minutes into the match, Burgh HC's Edward Otten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Trần Bay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edward Robben received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Trần Bay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 played minutes Edward Otten rounded Đông Á Thanh Hóa FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Trịnh Thanh Bình hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Lê Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Huynh Duc got free with Alex Toolenaar in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nguyễn Huy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Alex Toolenaar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Burgh HC's goalkeeper Alex Toolenaar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Burgh HC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Reinhard Bas hit a great ball. Edward Robben recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Job Wieringh came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Burgh HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Job Wieringh couldn't finish the play. Edward Otten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Đông Á Thanh Hóa FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
