Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Toby Topham successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Johnny Kinnieson hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Trevor Kempson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Aiden McDaniell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johnny McKinlay hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Adrian Claydon scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aiden McDaniell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Toby Topham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Adams, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After 22 minutes of play, K.S.V Waregem's Huey Hughes made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aiden McDaniell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aiden McDaniell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huey Hughes in the 26th minute of the match. Bruce Adams sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aiden McDaniell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Huey Hughes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leith United's Aiden McDaniell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Claydon in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, K.S.V Waregem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Claydon to maneuver through the defense. Adrian Claydon hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Aiden McDaniell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huey Hughes in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruce Adams in the 36th minute of play forced K.S.V Waregem's goalkeeper Toby Topham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Trevor Kempson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Aiden McDaniell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bruce Adams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toby Topham having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Huey Hughes was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, K.S.V Waregem's Phillip Wilson got a free kick in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruce Adams in the 56th minute of play forced K.S.V Waregem's goalkeeper Toby Topham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnny Kinnieson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toby Topham having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Bruce Adams made a precise shot to the right of Toby Topham. K.S.V Waregem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. K.S.V Waregem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leith United the free kick. Huey Hughes hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. K.S.V Waregem's Toby Topham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruce Adams in the 79th minute of play. Ian McGugan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Toby Topham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Bruce Adams's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Toby Topham was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. K.S.V Waregem had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
