The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Zack Langdon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferrer Urtiaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidney Bancroft kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vinicio Cachorro during the 13th minute. After 18 minutes, Sidney Bancroft mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yardley and the Tiki FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tiki FC booed when Yardley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidney Bancroft didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pete Eslworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Espínola Jaramillo in the 19th minute of the match. Méndez Cañellas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Tiki FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. González Codony hit a great ball. Tiki FC's Ferrer Urtiaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tristram Yeo in the 23rd minute of play. Roris Luciano hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Méndez Cañellas in the 28th minute of play forced Yardley's goalkeeper Pete Eslworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Yardley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zack Langdon to maneuver through the defense. If Méndez Cañellas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ian Caton scored 1-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ferrer Urtiaga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Yardley getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Sidney Bancroft hit a great ball. Méndez Cañellas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pete Eslworth having to make a save. Zack Langdon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferrer Urtiaga having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ian Caton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Méndez Cañellas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ferrer Urtiaga was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and Ian Caton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ian Caton really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Espínola Jaramillo in the 63rd minute of play forced Yardley's goalkeeper Pete Eslworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Méndez Cañellas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Pete Eslworth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Méndez Cañellas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The referee ignored Yardley's protests and gave Graham Brighton a yellow card for diving instead. Tiki FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zack Langdon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3. Pete Eslworth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-3. Tiki FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
