Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ian Caton made the kick off which started today's match. Fabio Calixto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Pete Eslworth managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Brea's Patricio Jerardo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 5 minutes into the match, Yardley's Ian Caton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelo Bordat narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ian Caton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Bordat having to interfere. Angelo Bordat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zack Langdon in the 11th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patricio Jerardo got free with Pete Eslworth in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Brea's Patricio Jerardo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pete Eslworth. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. If Ian Caton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Brea defense, Ian Caton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angelo Bordat. The Brea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angelo Bordat should have stopped the shot. Patricio Jerardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pete Eslworth having to interfere. Zack Langdon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Patricio Jerardos short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Pete Eslworth to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Herminio Veremundo charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Herminio Veremundo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Herminio Veremundo kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Angelo Bordat came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Yardley's Ian Caton. But to his dismay, Ian Caton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Patricio Jerardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Pete Eslworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabio Calixto to strike the kick off in the second half. If Ian Caton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the match, Yardley's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Jerardo came free, but Pete Eslworth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Brea's Fabio Calixto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pete Eslworth narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th minute Patricio Jerardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Eslworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angelo Bordat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Caton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zack Langdon scored 1-3 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angelo Bordat, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sidney Bancroft sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zack Langdon's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Angelo Bordat firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Zack Langdon came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Yardley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zack Langdon couldn't finish the play. Ian Caton did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-5 to the left of a surprised Angelo Bordat 96 minutes into the match. The Yardley supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Yardley would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
