An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilya Tolbuhin in the 30th minute of play forced Brea's goalkeeper Angelo Bordat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Brea's Herminio Veremundo got a free kick in the 30th minute. Yuriy Podkopalov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Calixto, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. When Patricio Jerardo came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Brea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Jerardo couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute of the match, Ilya Tolbuhin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Angelo Bordat saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
