In the 3rd match minute, Polzeath was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Syd Kinsey to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viviano Ledo in the 4th minute of play forced Polzeath's goalkeeper John-Paul Nevin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6thth minute of the game Viviano Ledo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Polzeath's John-Paul Nevin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeff Bateman kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After having played for 9 minutes, Viviano Ledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viviano Ledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. John-Paul Nevin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bermudo Reyes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 16 minutes, Viviano Ledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viviano Ledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Bermudo Reyes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of John-Paul Nevin. Polzeath's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bermudo Reyes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Frazer Stone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darius Bell might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aloisio Leon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darius Bell ran back to his position shaking his head. Viviano Ledo took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised John-Paul Nevin. John-Paul Nevin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. John-Paul Nevin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Doblas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the game, Polzeath's Darius Bell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aloisio Leon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. The supporters of Polzeath booed when Uruguay F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Doblas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viviano Ledo was the one to do the kick off. Viviano Ledo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John-Paul Nevin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Aloisio Leon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 minutes, Abelardo Aguilar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay F.C and the Polzeath players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Viviano Ledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Darius Bell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polzeath's supporters rose to their feet, but Darius Bell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aloisio Leon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Uruguay F.C's Aloisio Leon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Rogers in the 67th minute of play. If Viviano Ledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Abelardo Aguilar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, Polzeath's goalkeeper John-Paul Nevin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bermudo Reyes. In the 75th minute, Franz Scargill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 77 minutes, Bermudo Reyes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bermudo Reyes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Viviano Ledo struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. John-Paul Nevin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay F.C. When Viviano Ledo came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Uruguay F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viviano Ledo couldn't finish the play. John-Paul Nevin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bermudo Reyes in the 83rd minute of play. John-Paul Nevin came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Uruguay F.C's Bermudo Reyes. But to his dismay, Bermudo Reyes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. When Viviano Ledo came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Uruguay F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viviano Ledo couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Polzeath's zone, Bermudo Reyes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John-Paul Nevin came out of the goal and Bermudo Reyes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Uruguay F.C were furious when Abelardo Aguilar was red carded, 97 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Aloisio Leon went to the wrong direction when Steve Stamer was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The Uruguay F.C players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
