The supporters of Alicante FC booed when Yardley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Caton didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 5 minutes, Stephen Goodfellow mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yardley and the Alicante FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th match minute, Yardley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephen Goodfellow to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 7 minutes, Pete Eslworth successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Kiko Castelao came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Alicante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kiko Castelao couldn't finish the play. In the 11th match minute, Alicante FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casildo Alarcon to maneuver through the defense. When Kiko Castelao came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Alicante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kiko Castelao couldn't finish the play. Pete Eslworth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Enol Soto's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ian Caton during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Yardley getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ian Caton hit a great ball. Alicante FC's Enol Soto was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 31st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Ian Caton sped through Alicante FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julián Aballe. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ian Caton in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julián Aballe saved Alicante FC from getting behind. When Román Baeza fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alicante FC's protests and gave Román Baeza a yellow card for diving instead. Román Baeza hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zack Langdon in the 44th minute of play forced Alicante FC's goalkeeper Julián Aballe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Zack Langdon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yardley fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Román Baeza kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Ian Caton made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Kiko Castelao had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pete Eslworth. Yardley's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kiko Castelao was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. If Enol Soto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pete Eslworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Castelao in the 61st minute of the match. After 62 played minutes Yardley got a freekick which was hit by Danny Noble. After having played for 65 minutes, Enol Soto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alicante FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enol Soto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Castelao in the 67th minute of play forced Yardley's goalkeeper Pete Eslworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yardley's Ian Caton got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zack Langdon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Julián Aballe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Julián Aballe managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Yardley's Zack Langdon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Enol Soto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 79th minute, Enol Soto made a precise shot to the right of Pete Eslworth. Yardley's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. If Marco Saez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Zack Langdon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julián Aballe. Alicante FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zack Langdon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. 88 minutes into the match, Enol Soto notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Yardley's Pete Eslworth. Pete Eslworth was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alicante FC's Julián Aballe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Bancroft in the 92nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Castelao in the 95th minute of play forced Yardley's goalkeeper Pete Eslworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
