After 5 minutes, Herminio Veremundo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brea and the Oudri Kanda players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Oudri Kanda booed when Brea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herminio Veremundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th match minute, Oudri Kanda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo Pirani to maneuver through the defense. Fabio Calixto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes into the match, Brea's Pastor Naelio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Moisés Carioca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jorge Azeari charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorge Azeari the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th match minute, Brea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Azeari to maneuver through the defense. When Flavinho Leão fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oudri Kanda's protests and gave Flavinho Leão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th minute, Flavinho Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Angelo Bordat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Paulo Nunes in the 17th minute of the match. Pastor Naelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Fabio Calixto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Fabio Calixto struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Moisés Carioca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brea. Angelo Bordat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomé Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Jorge Azeari was shown his second yellow card after 35 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 36th match minute, Brea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Azeari to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Brea's zone, Tomé Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Bordat came out of the goal and Tomé Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oudri Kanda's Tomé Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The crowd rose to their feet as Tomé Pombal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Angelo Bordat. That made the score 0-1 in the 53 minute of play. Fabio Calixto might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Moisés Carioca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabio Calixto ran back to his position shaking his head. Moisés Carioca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabio Calixto's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, João Paulo Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oudri Kanda's supporters rose to their feet, but João Paulo Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelo Bordat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Paulo Nunes got free with Angelo Bordat in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabio Calixto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés Carioca having to interfere. Angelo Bordat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomé Pombal in the 87th minute of play. Brea's Angelo Bordat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Brea from getting a goal against them.
