Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jose Heredia in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Antognoni saved Italy from getting behind. A throw-in in the 6th minute of the game was made by Anfilogino Pantani with Anfilogino Pantani as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Italy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alvaro Tolin in the 9th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Spain's goalie and right to Alessandro Mara. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Spain's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jose Heredia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bruno Antognoni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Heredia in the 12th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Spain's Bruno Antognoni threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jose Heredia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Spain were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Italy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edorta Portillo took the corner. Spain's Arlo Fresnos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bruno Antognoni in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Italy's Anfilogino Pantani managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Agustin Aranzabal in the 17 minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Spain's Lico Pareja got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 23 minutes of play, Italy's Armando Natalucci made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Robert Bresson was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the game, Cristiano Cordone threw the ball into play from the sideline. Spain's Lico Pareja quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jose Heredia had several of the Italy's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 30 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Bruno Antognoni as he didn't even see the shot coming. Bruno Antognoni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Heredia in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 37thth minute of the game Alvaro Tolin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Spain's Robert Bresson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Alvaro Tolin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robert Bresson was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. In the 39th minute Armando Natalucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Bresson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Natalucci in the 42nd minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Robert Bresson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Jose Heredia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bruno Antognoni. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jose Heredia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Anfilogino Pantani charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anfilogino Pantani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute, Anfilogino Pantani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armando Natalucci stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Armando Natalucci dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Robert Bresson, 3-2. Jose Heredia might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Antognoni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jose Heredia ran back to his position shaking his head. Bruno Antognoni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Heredia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Anfilogino Pantani in the 58th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Spain's Edorta Portillo. In the 59th minute Armando Natalucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Bresson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Italy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesare Maestri to maneuver through the defense. Spain made a substitution. Francesc Tamari replaced Quintin Gomar. Spain's Coronel Castro was substituted for Jose Heredia. 68 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Coronel Castro came free, but Bruno Antognoni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enzo Luongo got free with Robert Bresson in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81st minute Coronel Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Antognoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Spain's goalkeeper Robert Bresson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carmine Gargano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Coronel Fuster in the 84th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Bruno Antognoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Coronel Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bruno Antognoni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesc Tamari in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute Coronel Fuster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Antognoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enzo Luongo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Italy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Spain.
