Anfilogino Amicone was a little too slow when Candido Urbes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigel Bucur in the 18th minute of play forced Mellbystrand IK's goalkeeper Daniel Alrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Toronto Marlies FC booed when Mellbystrand IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Giliusson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fatsali Bedirhan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tom Giliusson made in the 30th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Toronto Marlies FC's Gerard Pique. Daniel Passarelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anfilogino Amicone was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Kurt Brogren capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kurt Brogren really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The throw-in from Tom Giliusson in the 40th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Toronto Marlies FC's Gerard Pique. 47 minutes into the match, Mellbystrand IK's goal looked a bit too open when Gigel Bucur came free, but Daniel Alrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gigel Bucur to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Toronto Marlies FC's zone, Kurt Brogren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anfilogino Amicone came out of the goal and Kurt Brogren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tom Giliusson made in the 56th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Toronto Marlies FC's Tracy Narcisse. Anfilogino Amicone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Brogren in the 64th minute of the match. Toronto Marlies FC's Ian Pansby was substituted for Daniel Passarelli. In the 68th minute, Claude Abrams hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70thth minute of the game Gigel Bucur who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mellbystrand IK's Daniel Alrot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Kurt Brogren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mellbystrand IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kurt Brogren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anfilogino Amicone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anfilogino Amicone didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joakim Mattsson went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Anfilogino Amicone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Urbes, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Candido Urbes in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anfilogino Amicone prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Brogren in the 87th minute of play forced Toronto Marlies FC's goalkeeper Anfilogino Amicone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute of the match, Gigel Bucur got a very nice opportunity to score, but Daniel Alrot was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mellbystrand IK had won after a very even match.
