Viktor Qvarnström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martial Gobert in the 10th minute of play. Ragnar Dalgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Martial Gobert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Viktor Qvarnström having to make a save. Viktor Qvarnström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martial Gobert in the 19th minute of the match. Danny Arpin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Joacim Pålsson. 25 minutes into the match, Montagnole FC's goalkeeper Danny Arpin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ragnar Dalgren. After 27 minutes of play, Montagnole FC's Martial Gobert made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viktor Qvarnström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gabin Génot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viktor Qvarnström having to interfere. In the 34th minute Olivier Serot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Qvarnström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Norrlands Athen U23 booed when Montagnole FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martial Gobert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danny Arpin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ragnar Dalgren in the 39th minute. If Joacim Pålsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Montagnole FC's goalkeeper Danny Arpin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ragnar Dalgren. Jörgen Källberg lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 45th minute, one of Norrlands Athen U23:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Norrlands Athen U23. In the 47th minute there was a penalty for Montagnole FC. Gabin Génot stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Viktor Qvarnström. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martial Gobert made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Batiste Lavandier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th minute Batiste Lavandier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Qvarnström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Norrlands Athen U23's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Olivier Serot fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Kaj Pålsson fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norrlands Athen U23's protests and gave Kaj Pålsson a yellow card for diving instead. Kaj Pålsson kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 67 played minutes Montagnole FC got a freekick which was hit by Martial Gobert. The supporters of Montagnole FC booed when Norrlands Athen U23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens-Åke Hedbom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viktor Qvarnström was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Martial Gobert capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Martial Gobert really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After 84 minutes of play, Montagnole FC's Martial Gobert made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viktor Qvarnström was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 90th minute, Olivier Serot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
