With a couple of smart ball manuevers Liu Zhi in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Omar Duardo saved Vancouver Reds from getting behind. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund MZB getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. He Xiao Ao hit a great ball. Liu Zhi kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Michel Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerry Lawler in the 33rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Liu Zhi in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Omar Duardo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Liu Zhi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 47 played minutes Vancouver Reds got a freekick which was hit by Luca Frântu. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Liu Zhi made a kick off. Omar Duardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from He Xiao Ao in the 52nd minute of play. Julian Gmoch's late challenge caught a Borussia Dortmund MZB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julian Gmoch helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd match minute, Vancouver Reds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Gmoch to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Borussia Dortmund MZB defense, Jerry Lawler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michel Neuer.
