Clóvis Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darryl Buckner in the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Valdo Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victoriano Bernaldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darryl Buckner in the 15th minute of play forced Leon Sport Club's goalkeeper Clóvis Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Darryl Buckner in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clóvis Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 23 minutes into the game, Darryl Buckner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Clóvis Reis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovanni Massa in the 26th minute of play. Victoriano Bernaldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jon Loarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victoriano Bernaldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Loarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Darryl Buckner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's supporters rose to their feet, but Darryl Buckner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clóvis Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leopoldo Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Leon Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Darryl Buckner came free, but Clóvis Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goal looked a bit too open when Valdo Prado came free, but Victoriano Bernaldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raymundo Hasche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoriano Bernaldo having to interfere. When Valdo Prado came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Leon Sport Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo Prado couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute Darryl Buckner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goalkeeper Victoriano Bernaldo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdo Prado. Darryl Buckner's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Clóvis Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute of the match, Giovanni Massa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Victoriano Bernaldo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Valdo Prado scored to the left of an out of position Victoriano Bernaldo, making the score, 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
