Vítor Baia made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Paio York sent off a good shot on target. Paio York blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vítor Baia having to make a save. Brugge United's Vítor Baia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Brugge United from getting a goal against them. In the 29th match minute, Brugge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Will Deman to maneuver through the defense. Paio York blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vítor Baia having to make a save. In the 46th minute, Guido Vissenaeken left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brugge United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guido Vissenaeken to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guido Vissenaeken got free with Chris Harrison in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 61 minutes of play, 『盛世メ名門』夏天SuMmEr Fc's Paio York made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vítor Baia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Brugge United's Waud Huijbrechts was substituted for Jaspar Van Den Broeck. 『盛世メ名門』夏天SuMmEr Fc made a substitution. Ümit Karan charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ümit Karan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of 『盛世メ名門』夏天SuMmEr Fc booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ümit Karan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th match minute, Brugge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. Qian Yang Chen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vítor Baia. Brugge United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Chris Harrison was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Arnauld Van Impe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arnauld Van Impe really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Neither 『盛世メ名門』夏天SuMmEr Fc or Brugge United succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.

All the players looked a little tired when it was time for the first half of the overtime. It was 『盛世メ名門』夏天SuMmEr Fc's Daniel Tschida that got to make the kick off. In the 104th minute the ball was on its way in behind 『盛世メ名門』夏天SuMmEr Fc's goalkeeper Chris Harrison, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Will Deman in the 106th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by 『盛世メ名門』夏天SuMmEr Fc's Onni Nurmi. Chris Harrison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnauld Van Impe in the 110th minute of play. Both sets of players were looking tired when the whistle went to end the half. Everyone was pleased to get a few minutes to rest before extra-time resumed.

Both teams seemed ready to fight when Brugge United's Arnauld Van Impe did the kick off and started the second half in the overtime. In the 119th minute, Waud Huijbrechts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 124 minutes into the game, Brugge United's Arnauld Van Impe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chris Harrison made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. The Brugge United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
