Wigalf Bork fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arseniy Maltsev having to interfere. Wojtek Moll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danila Hlebnikov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wigalf Bork's late challenge caught a Novorossiysk FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wigalf Bork helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Novorossiysk FC booed when Kupferberg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wigalf Bork didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute of the match Grigoriy Abramenko shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wojtek Moll showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ostap Artemev in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wojtek Moll saved Kupferberg FC from getting behind. In the 19th minute, Vitaliy Gorbachev left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Novorossiysk FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 23rd match minute, Kupferberg FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jascha Brütt to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Emanuel Gigl dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arseniy Maltsev, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Novorossiysk FC's Danila Hlebnikov got a free kick in the 28th minute. Egor Budzinskiy hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Novorossiysk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Heiner Viertel came free, but Arseniy Maltsev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Lev Miroshkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Heiner Viertel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arseniy Maltsev was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Arseniy Maltsev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heiner Viertel in the 54th minute of the match. If Emanuel Gigl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaspar Pilz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wojtek Moll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ostap Artemev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wojtek Moll made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Denis Butenko sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Danila Hlebnikov kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wojtek Moll. That made the score 1-2 in the 83 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Markus Kuhlins during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Kupferberg FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Markus Kuhlins to maneuver through the defense.
