Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joselito Alvarenga in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saul Erazo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 17 minutes into the match, Egham AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Giovani Umaña came free, but Humberto Jimenez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronald Botello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Saul Erazo made a huge save. Giovani Umaña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antonio Murgas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Humberto Jimenez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Primitivo Mayen charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Primitivo Mayen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Royston getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Primitivo Mayen hit a great ball. If Joselito Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Antonio Murgas made the kick off in the second half. Ronald Botello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joselito Alvarenga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Ronald Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Erazo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joselito Alvarenga in the 61st minute of play forced Royston's goalkeeper Saul Erazo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primitivo Mayen hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Antonio Murgas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Murgas couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Egham AFC's Humberto Jimenez got control of the ball when Giovani Umaña tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Giovani Umaña came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Royston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovani Umaña couldn't finish the play. Royston's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
