The supporters of Northallerton booed when Preston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Coreas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Northallerton's Emerson Osorio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abraham Gomez in the 53rd minute of play. Primitivo Aguilar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Preston! After having played for 85 minutes, Dennys Barrera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Northallerton supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Northallerton would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
