The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 played minutes Washington got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Vachon. Cayetano Estefans short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Daniel Tipi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Daniel Tipi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Lalla in the 33rd minute of the match. Daniel Tipi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Lalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Leo Lalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Cayetano Estefan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Washington's Daniel Tipi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Lalla in the 40th minute of play. Lino Abel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Washington's goalkeeper Daniel Tipi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cayetano Estefan. When Natalio James fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Washington's protests and gave Natalio James a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Washington fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leo Lalla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in Garuapé fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 57 minutes, Washington's Natalio James got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Omar Jerrald. Omar Jerrald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lino Abel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leo Lalla struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Daniel Tipi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garuapé. Isidro Vachon charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isidro Vachon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Isidro Vachon hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Leo Lalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celso Precioso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Omar Jerrald read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Celso Precioso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Omar Jerrald when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 95 minutes into the match, Garuapé's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Abel came free, but Omar Jerrald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Celso Precioso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Garuapé fans cheered their team off the field, for while Washington had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
