After 21 minutes, Arnaldo Medero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Once Jaibos FC and the Iruya AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celedonio Leizarraga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 27 played minutes, Iruya AFC's Arturo Chucho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Celedonio Leizarraga came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Iruya AFC reached it. In the 30th minute, Arnaldo Medero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eulalio Sauveur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Reynaldo Gonzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicasio Rudolfo in the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Celedonio Leizarraga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Matei in the 55th minute of the match. After 56 minutes of play, Once Jaibos FC's Emilio Gaspard made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reynaldo Gonzo was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Nicasio Rudolfo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Once Jaibos FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Edgardo Lore hit a great ball. The referee ignored Once Jaibos FC's protests and gave Lino Pagomari a yellow card for diving instead. Eulalio Sauveur struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Celedonio Leizarraga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iruya AFC. In the 78th minute Dante Matei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Leizarraga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Matei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celedonio Leizarraga having to interfere. Once Jaibos FC's Emilio Gaspard got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Once Jaibos FC's Celedonio Leizarraga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dante Matei in the 93rd minute of play. When the match was over Iruya AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Once Jaibos FC throughout the match.
