Desiderio Lopes came out of the goal and Artemio Selmo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eloy Natanael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Artemio Selmo came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Pilar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artemio Selmo couldn't finish the play. Lobos Soccer Tepic's Desiderio Lopes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Lobos Soccer Tepic from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Pilar's Higinio Boniel got a free kick in the 17th minute. Artemio Selmo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Filiberto Fernanco fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lobos Soccer Tepic's protests and gave Filiberto Fernanco a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Filiberto Fernanco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flavio Fidele was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. Pilar's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 25 minutes into the match, Lorenzo Gurutz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Desiderio Lopes, 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Desiderio Lopes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Artemio Selmo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Desiderio Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Desiderio Lopes came out of the goal and Artemio Selmo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the match, Lobos Soccer Tepic's goalkeeper Desiderio Lopes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flavio Fidele. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artemio Selmo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Artemio Selmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Desiderio Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Fidele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Desiderio Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Artemio Selmo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Desiderio Lopes was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. After a defensive mix-up in Lobos Soccer Tepic's zone, Lorenzo Gurutz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Desiderio Lopes came out of the goal and Lorenzo Gurutz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lobos Soccer Tepic's Desiderio Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisito Matro in the 95th minute of play.
