An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Toli in the 23rd minute of play forced Rayos Saltillo F.C.'s goalkeeper Ernesto Javiero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 27 played minutes Nono got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Bikendi. Ernesto Javiero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cecilio Toli in the 30th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Rayos Saltillo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cecilio Toli came free, but Ernesto Javiero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute, Marcial Neron fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Nono's Hernan Raymundo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Nono from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Nono booed when Rayos Saltillo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Totakoxe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute Paolo Firmin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Javiero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eriberto Otsoa hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cecilio Toli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Nono booed when Rayos Saltillo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Guerau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Pacifico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot by Eugenio Lehior from long distance, 57 minutes into the match, got Ernesto Javiero's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a defensive mix-up in Rayos Saltillo F.C.'s zone, Cecilio Toli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Javiero came out of the goal and Cecilio Toli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Cecilio Toli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Rayos Saltillo F.C. getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Israel Guerau hit a great ball. Luis Pacifico struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Ernesto Javiero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nono. If Cecilio Toli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Eriberto Otsoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the game, Luis Pacifico was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nono's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rayos Saltillo F.C. the free kick. The supporters of Rayos Saltillo F.C. booed when Nono was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Pacifico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nunez Peyo's late challenge caught a Nono's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nunez Peyo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Rayos Saltillo F.C. getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Nunez Peyo hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cecilio Toli in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Javiero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernesto Javiero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Toli in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st minute Cecilio Toli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Javiero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Nono's Cecilio Toli slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ernesto Javiero. That made the score 1-2 after 97 minutes of play. When the match was over Nono could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rayos Saltillo F.C. throughout the match.
