Emanuel Viviano was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 15 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Real Madrid fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! Real Madrid:s Edgard Henry showed great skill when he stopped Prudencio Ranolfo:s penalty. After having played for 18 minutes, Rogelio Nerio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acevedo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Nerio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Acevedo AFC's Tomas Berdaitz got a free kick in the 20th minute. Eduardo Nabar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Gonzalo Leoncio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Real Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Eder came free, but Edgard Henry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rogelio Nerio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Edgard Henry made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Urbano Arnas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Madrid's supporters rose to their feet, but Urbano Arnas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonzalo Leoncio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bonifacio Umbruso's late challenge caught a Acevedo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bonifacio Umbruso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Bonifacio Umbruso hit a great ball. Edgard Henry didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 47th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eduardo Nabar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Gonzalo Leoncio came out of the goal and Fermin Cuarto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Real Madrid's Fermin Cuarto got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Acevedo AFC's Tomas Berdaitz got a free kick in the 71st minute. If Eduardo Nabar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Acevedo AFC's goalkeeper Gonzalo Leoncio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Urbano Arnas. Fermin Cuarto might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gonzalo Leoncio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fermin Cuarto ran back to his position shaking his head. When Tomas Berdaitz fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Acevedo AFC's protests and gave Tomas Berdaitz a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Eder in the 80th minute of play forced Real Madrid's goalkeeper Edgard Henry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Acevedo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Fermin Cuarto came free, but Gonzalo Leoncio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonzalo Leoncio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Nabar in the 94th minute of play. When Tomas Berdaitz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 97 minutes had been played. Many of Real Madrid's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Real Madrid may have spent more time on the ball, but Acevedo AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
