The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Población's Serafino Ibon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Hernando in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Octavio Kaxen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Serafino Ibon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Serafino Ibon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Hernando, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Severino Cuartios short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Tiburcio Mel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tiburcio Mel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabricio Silvino's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Rodolfo Eli kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Población got a freekick which was hit by Victorino Norino. In the 44th minute of the match Desiderio Montrel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Serafino Ibon skillfully saved the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Octavio Kaxen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serafino Ibon having to make a save. If Severino Cuartio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, Población's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Hernando came free, but Serafino Ibon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Severino Cuartio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Tiburcio Mel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabricio Silvino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 76 played minutes Pocitos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Desiderio Montrel. After 77 played minutes, Población's Luis Garikoitz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tiburcio Mel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Población reached it. Serafino Ibon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Hernando, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 82 minutes into the game, Abel Librado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Población's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pocitos AFC the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Población:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pocitos AFC:s goal. In the 83rd minute of the game, Pocitos AFC got a penalty.
