After having played for 30 minutes, Karamfil Makriev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruz Azul F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karamfil Makriev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Karamfil Makriev sped through Club America Zacatecano's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilberto Tristan. Karamfil Makriev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Tristan having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, Club America Zacatecano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Bernad to maneuver through the defense. Gilberto Tristan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yasraf Darodjatun in the 48th minute of the match. In the 96th match minute, Club America Zacatecano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Americo Dubardo to maneuver through the defense. 98 minutes into the game, Cruz Azul F.C's Juan Lixandro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilberto Tristan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. When the referee ended the match the Cruz Azul F.C players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
