With a little luck, Yuchán FC's Ignacio Cresenciano got control of the ball when Placido Formerio tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Clemente Elivareo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Diego Dalmai spun around in front of the goal 22 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Cerrito's goal. In the 24th minute, Placido Formerio made a precise shot to the right of Ignacio Cresenciano. Yuchán FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Odilon during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabricio Sasoin was the one to do the kick off. Ignacio Cresenciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabricio Sasoin in the 51st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Placido Formerio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cerrito's supporters rose to their feet, but Placido Formerio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ignacio Cresenciano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ignacio Cresenciano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Placido Formerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ignacio Cresenciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabricio Sasoin in the 57th minute of play. With his leg Tomas Orlondo managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Yuchán FC's Clemente Elivareo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Clemente Elivareo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Orlondo having to interfere. Tomas Orlondo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yuchán FC. After a defensive mix-up in Cerrito's zone, Clemente Elivareo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Orlondo came out of the goal and Clemente Elivareo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clemente Elivareo got free with Tomas Orlondo in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ignacio Cresenciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Placido Formerio in the 95th minute of play. Cerrito's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
