Seating: 1698, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Santo Roldanillo got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of Lagunilla booed when Monterrey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Crispo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Urbano Mitxel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Havier having to interfere. A collision led to Lagunilla getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Antonio Ponc hit a great ball. Candido Galoer was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 16 minutes, Rosendo Lluterio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monterrey and the Lagunilla players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rosendo Lluterio kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After 20 minutes of play, Monterrey's Raul Crispo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simon Havier was left in no man's land by his defense there! Simon Havier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urbano Mitxel, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Raul Crispo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Simon Havier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simon Havier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raul Crispo in the 36th minute of the match. After 38 minutes of play, Monterrey's Raul Crispo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simon Havier was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 43rd minute, Leopoldo Txurio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the match, Monterrey's Candido Galoer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raul Crispo was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santo Roldanillo in the 53rd minute of play forced Monterrey's goalkeeper Venancio Odilon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Urbano Mitxel came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Monterrey fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Urbano Mitxel couldn't finish the play. Simon Havier came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Monterrey's Urbano Mitxel. But to his dismay, Urbano Mitxel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Raul Crispo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pablo Gaspard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Honorio Berart during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Monterrey getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Honorio Berart hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Monterrey's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Gaspard came free, but Venancio Odilon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Simon Havier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Crispo in the 88th minute of play. Simon Havier acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 90th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Santo Lon. Pablo Gaspard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Venancio Odilon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venancio Odilon came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Lagunilla's Santo Roldanillo. But to his dismay, Santo Roldanillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Lagunilla fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Monterrey were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
