When Ladislao Saturnin fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored América's protests and gave Ladislao Saturnin a yellow card for diving instead. Ladislao Saturnin kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Emilio Louis made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Florentino Efren sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florentino Efren got free with Emilio Louis in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 19 minutes into the match, América's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Rosalio came free, but Emilio Louis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute Paulo Viviano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geronimo Donzel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geronimo Donzel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Gil's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Jaime Gil notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sport club's Geronimo Donzel. Geronimo Donzel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Geronimo Donzel came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by América's Jaime Gil. But to his dismay, Jaime Gil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Emilio Louis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Rosalio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 played minutes Sport club got a freekick which was hit by Julio Dimo. 0-3 became the score in the 41st minute when Jaime Gil elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sport club's Fabian Rosalio got a free kick in the 47th minute.

Geronimo Donzel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Viviano in the 52nd minute of play. In the 60th play minute Melquiades Montez came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Geronimo Donzel. 0-4. After a rather tough play, Sport club's Generoso Lluc got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 76 minutes into the game, Antonio Formerio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave América the free kick. In the 78th minute, Jaime Gil ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Geronimo Donzel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Ladislao Saturnin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Geronimo Donzel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Jaime Gil took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Geronimo Donzel to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Sport club getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Conrado Pedroso hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Sport club's goalkeeper Geronimo Donzel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Gil. Geronimo Donzel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Viviano, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Jaime Gil notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Sport club's Geronimo Donzel. Geronimo Donzel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. América's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
