The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 11th minute, Saverio Claus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hilario Errolan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Jesco having to interfere. Diablos Rojos's Saverio Claus got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramon Fidencio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Fidele in the 20th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Diablos Rojos's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Fidele came free, but Ramon Fidencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudio Haritz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ramon Fidencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Anastasio Anaya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Claudio Haritz came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Sánchez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudio Haritz couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute Clemente Fidele shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Fidencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clemente Fidele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Gonzalo Cloyo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sánchez's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonzalo Cloyo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramon Fidencio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clemente Fidele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudio Haritz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Ramon Fidencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Clemente Fidele recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute of the match, Clemente Fidele tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ramon Fidencio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Clemente Fidele came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Sánchez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemente Fidele couldn't finish the play. After 60 played minutes Diablos Rojos got a freekick which was hit by Anastasio Anaya. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sánchez's goalkeeper Apolo Jesco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Saverio Claus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Jesco having to interfere. With a little luck, Diablos Rojos's Ramon Fidencio got control of the ball when Carolo Meendez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute, Alfredo Bero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hilario Errolan in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Apolo Jesco saved Sánchez from getting behind. Desiderio Eliazar hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. If Clemente Fidele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Sánchez's Claudio Haritz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramon Fidencio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clemente Fidele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ramon Fidencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Saverio Claus came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Diablos Rojos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saverio Claus couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Sánchez's Alonzo Domeka got a free kick in the 87th minute. Diablos Rojos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luciano Theodore in the 90th minute. Luciano Theodore made a great header on Diablos Rojos's corner, it was just that Sánchez's Apolo Jesco managed to reach the ball for a save. Sánchez's Clemente Fidele got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carolo Meendez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ramon Fidencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Despite being the better team, Sánchez failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
