Spectators: 3000 (Terracing: 3000, Seating: 0, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Teobaldo Arotza started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erubiel Firme during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Banfield booed when Real Botana F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Firme didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvio Gomesano in the 6th minute of play forced Real Botana F.C.'s goalkeeper Delmar Telmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Victorio Eusko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Cosme Rius managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Real Botana F.C.'s Eriberto Chesus fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Elvio Gomesano scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Delmar Telmo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Eduino in the 19th minute of play forced Real Botana F.C.'s goalkeeper Delmar Telmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Real Botana F.C. defense, Teobaldo Arotza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delmar Telmo. The Real Botana F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delmar Telmo should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Banfield's zone, Victorio Eusko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosme Rius came out of the goal and Victorio Eusko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Banfield's goalkeeper Cosme Rius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriberto Chesus. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvio Gomesano in the 28th minute of play forced Real Botana F.C.'s goalkeeper Delmar Telmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Real Botana F.C. booed when Banfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobaldo Arotza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eriberto Chesus succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 38th playminute. Eriberto Chesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Cosme Rius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Banfield's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Eriberto Chesus fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After the first half Banfield were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eriberto Chesus to make the kick off. Victorio Eusko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosme Rius having to interfere. If Victorio Eusko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eriberto Chesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosme Rius didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victorio Eusko went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After 71 played minutes, Banfield's Tomas Rozarius shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Delmar Telmo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Banfield reached it. The nice shot from Elvio Gomesano in the 76thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Delmar Telmo had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Erubiel Firme hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After having played for 79 minutes, Victorio Eusko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Botana F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Victorio Eusko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute Victorio Eusko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosme Rius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 82 minutes, Eriberto Chesus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Botana F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto Chesus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cosme Rius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorio Eusko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 87 minutes of play, Banfield's Alonzo Eyague made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Delmar Telmo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Banfield's Cosme Rius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorio Eusko in the 90th minute of play. Cosme Rius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Chesus, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
