Venancio Favila didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horacio Cordarrol went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 9th minute, Leonides Ovando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 14 minutes into the game, Baldomero Rafel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Athletic Five's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jagüé FC the free kick. After 14 played minutes Athletic Five got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Rafel. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Casimiro Sergi in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Prudencio Egoitz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Jagüé FC booed when Athletic Five was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomero Rafel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 played minutes Jagüé FC got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Ospin. Venancio Favila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horacio Cordarrol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Leonides Ovando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carmelo Justin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Prudencio Egoitz made a huge save. Baldomero Rafel got his second yellow card in the match during the 30th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 30th minute, Baldomero Rafel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Carmelo Justin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jagüé FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carmelo Justin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Prudencio Egoitz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 35 minutes, Casimiro Sergi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jagüé FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Casimiro Sergi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Prudencio Egoitz made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Carmelo Justin sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Athletic Five were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Casimiro Sergi to make the kick off. Celedonio Venerando hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Casimiro Sergi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jagüé FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Casimiro Sergi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Prudencio Egoitz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Michael might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Venancio Favila. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaime Michael ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 64th minute Casimiro Sergi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prudencio Egoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Athletic Five's goal looked a bit too open when Carmelo Justin came free, but Prudencio Egoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horacio Cordarrol kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. A collision led to Jagüé FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Sixto Rayman hit a great ball. Leonides Ovando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Venancio Favila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Leonides Ovando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Carmelo Justin came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Jagüé FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carmelo Justin couldn't finish the play. 95 minutes into the match, Athletic Five's goal looked a bit too open when Casimiro Sergi came free, but Prudencio Egoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Athletic Five's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
