Ezequiel Librado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Ove Karlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Stephenson FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Villarreal came free, but Ezequiel Librado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alberto Villarreal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 21st minute, Alberto Villarreal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ezequiel Librado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Sven-Ove Karlsson came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Los Hijos del Papá fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Ove Karlsson couldn't finish the play. Sven-Ove Karlsson scored 0-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ezequiel Librado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Stephenson FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Los Hijos del Papá were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Villarreal to make the kick off. Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Abdurähmanov hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Alfredo Arista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfredo Poz in the 56th minute of play. After 61 played minutes, Stephenson FC's Delmar Sanchez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfredo Arista came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stephenson FC reached it. In the 74th minute, Sven-Ove Karlsson made a precise shot to the right of Ezequiel Librado. Stephenson FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 79 minutes into the game, Los Hijos del Papá's Alberto Villarreal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ezequiel Librado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Ismael Ekhi kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Stephenson FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sven-Ove Karlsson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Villarreal in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ezequiel Librado saved Stephenson FC from getting behind. After 94 minutes of play, Los Hijos del Papá's Sven-Ove Karlsson made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ezequiel Librado was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Stephenson FC's zone, Sven-Ove Karlsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ezequiel Librado came out of the goal and Sven-Ove Karlsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Los Hijos del Papá supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los Hijos del Papá would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
