The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the game, Nemesio Barea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Niceto Columbo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Junín FC's Nestor Donio got control of the ball when Amado Oskitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute Nemesio Barea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Columbo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Junín FC booed when Galvan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Savion didn't get a good kick on the ball. Galvan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romulo Regis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nestor Donio was a little too slow when Leonel Mede got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 46th minute Leonel Mede shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Donio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romulo Regis's late challenge caught a Junín FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romulo Regis helped the player get up and apologised. The Galvan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Junín FC were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nemesio Barea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
